Why Standing Fold Pose
Anytime you are feeling ungrounded, unhinged or simply unable to just hold your ground, a standing forward fold will help you stabilize your energy and substantiate your ground of being.
A forward fold will put you in your lower body. It works your hips by refining the fold in this joint. If done aligned, and your body is spacious enough, your spine hangs like a strand of beaded pearls. It flushes fresh energy into your brain and cultivates an inner sense of self.
However it is common to see this pose done misaligned. When done with incorrect alignment it can do more harm than good, such as leading to strain in the lower back, tightening hip flexors, and at the extreme - a slipped disc because of spinal misalignment.
This is why alignment is so key and I will lead you through correct alignment so you can ensure you are helping, not harming your body.
