I have worked with thousands upon thousands of students, all over the world, and it never ceases to amaze me how many people do not actually know how to breathe.
There has been a lot of conditioning created around breathing in popular culture (such as sucking in your tummy), but also a lot of unprocessed emotions and experiences have become locked in the body, along with the breath. These moments shocked you, shook you, took your breath away and had you hold your breath, all in a way that locked a pattern in your body.
So when I talk of the breath I speak of its mundane inhale and exhale, but also the psychology behind breath, and what effect has on the mind.
Parasympathetic breathing is your natural breath. It is how you were meant to breathe. It is full, fluid, slow, rhythmic, and deliciously simple. However, if you have spent years breathing shallow, not utilizing your belly or pelvic floor with the breath, then it can be a breath that is incredibly hard to access.
That is why in this video I will teach you the easiest posture to place yourself in to access this breath.
And when you learn to breathe in this way your sleep will improve, your stress and tension will diminish, because every time you take these breaths you will slowly begin to release the unprocessed emotions and experiences that were locked within. This is truly the freeing breath.
So what is the mechanics of this Breath? How can it help you sleep better? How can it free up your pelvis? How does it clear your mind? And why is it essential that you learn this before doing any other breathwork practice?
Let’s get into it.
