Yoga without alignment and props is simply exercise that is going to increase the habitual tension in your body.
Alignment is not a guessing game. Your body is designed perfectly. True alignment in postures is based off of your own personal proportions.
Prop work isn’t arbitrary either. When you learn to use props to create boundaries for the structure of your body, your body changes. Props hold your bones in alignment so the muscles that have been overworked can finally let go.
Finally, holding the posture for a longer duration allows you to repattern your body.
If you want yoga to change your body you need to learn the tools of alignment, how best to use props, and you need to build the stamina to hold postures for longer than you want to.
The posture I am sharing here is the absolute simplest way you can repattern your entire body. Your legs, your pelvis, your spinal column and your shoulders. What I love about this pose is that you don’t actually need to do much, yet a lot will happen.
So what is this posture? And what kind of props do you need?
Let’s get into it.
